Captain America: Civil War is setting up to be one of the most momentous movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only will Captain America and Iron Man go head to head, but there will also be a lot of other great actors in it as well.
Today, Marvel officially announced that Daniel Bruhl has joined the cast of Civil War. He will join Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chadwick Boseman in the film. He is known for movies like Inglorious Basterds and Rush. His Rush co-star Chris Hemsworth already plays Thor in the Marvel movies.
“With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances,” said Producer Kevin Feige, “we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes.”
Bruhl is rumored to be playing a villainous role in the film, although I have a feeling he won’t be a hero or a villain. Bruhl is excellent at playing those guys in the gray area between good and bad, which is what the film could call for. Some have suggested that he could be playing Spider-Man, although that looks unlikely at this point.
Whatever role he’s playing, Bruhl is a great addition and hopefully he will be in more Marvel movies yet to come. Captain America: Civil War will be released on May 6, 2016.
