Universal has been slowly but steadily building hype for the next installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Furious 7. Production on this film hit a bit of a detour when one of the main stars, Paul Walker, tragically died in a car accident. Since then, director James Wan has regrouped, and the cast and crew have made it their mission to finish the movie for him.
Today, Universal released the first trailer for the movie, which you can see down below:
This trailer makes it pretty clear that Furious 7 is going to have the same style of action that the past movies in the franchise are known for. There are quite a few shots of Paul Walker in this, but none of them look like they were added in later or used a stand-in. It’s possible that those shots just weren’t ready to go yet, or they were there and were very convincing.
The official description for Furious 7 reads:
Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell. Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film written by Chris Morgan.
You can catch Furious 7 in theaters on April 3, 2015.
