As Wonder Woman powers its way towards a $100m (domestic) opening weekend at the box office, coupled with near-universal critical acclaim, it’s no surprise that a sequel is already on the cards.
And The Hollywood Reporter have seemingly confirmed, in a profile of director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot, that Jenkins is keen to see out her contract to direct the second film. What’s more, they add that the film will take place in a contemporary setting – which makes sense for a film that will come out post-Justice League, although there are plenty of question marks over exactly what Diana got up to between the end of the war and the events of Batman v Superman – and it would be a shame not to see any more of that story told.
Either way, though: more of this character, by this director? Sign us up.
