Are you a really big superhero movie fan with tens of thousands of pounds burning a hole in your back pocket? If so, then the latest auction from movie & TV memorabilia specialists The Prop Store might be for you.

Among the many classic items for sale in this auction are Thor’s hammer Mjolnir – as wielded by Chris Hemsworth in Thor; Jack Nicholson’s Joker costume from Batman ’89; Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord helmet from Guardians of the Galaxy; Ian McKellen’s Magneto helmet and tunic from the original X-Men; a Christopher Reeve Superman tunic (yay!) from Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (not so yay); and a Julie Newmar Catwoman outfit from the 1960s Batman show.

Stephen Lane, Prop Store CEO, says, “We all love a good superhero, and we’re thrilled to be featuring such ‘super’ props and costumes in our upcoming auction. If you’re a fan of Marvel or DC, heroes or villains, blockbusters or the classics, we’ve got you covered. These great lots and hundreds more will go under the hammer at Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, held on 26th September at London’s BFI IMAX proudly presented by ODEON.”

If you’re not likely to be able to afford the eye-watering prices these items are expected to fetch (the Star-Lord helmet is estimated to get up to a whopping £50,000) you can still get a close-up look at the items at the free exhibition. It’s open to the public at the BFI IMAX in Waterloo, London from 10:00am to 9:30pm on 7th–26th September 2017. And if you do want to register to place a bid, you can do so at the Prop Store website, over the phone or in person.

Although if you are someone who can afford to spend that much money on a piece of superhero movie history, might we also point you in the direction of our Patreon…?

Well, it was worth a shot.
